As a rule of thumb each hardcopy letter received at a studio is thought to represent 400 others fans who do not take the time to write. So, you can imagine that your letters count a great deal. Actual mailed hardcopy letters are thought more effective and more highly valued by the studios. So, everyone, please take the time to write in support of The Beast. A few minutes could mean a full season of episodes.

QUICK TIPS:
A handwritten note tends to carry more weight. Be sure to keep the letters short and to the point. Make each one personal (don't say you are part of a campaign on the internet. Include your age, job, children etc. if you can. Tell them that all your family and friends watch too... If you're a stockholder, be sure to mention that too.), mention how great you think the show is, and be peristent in your wish to see The Beast renewed. Do NOT be abusive, threatening or hostile, but be polite and sincere. When writing to ABC, don't write The Beast on the envelope; that could get it forwarded -- unopened and unread by ABC brass -- to the The Beast offices.

Have a suggestion or tip? Inside information that could help refocus the campaign? Send me mail: jackman@have-dog.com

ABC, in its infinite wisdom, has deemed it necessary to cancel The Beast due to "low ratings" (a shock, considering there was no promotion for the show, they've skipped entire episodes -- and it's the middle of the summer). Good TV is worth fighting for. Join the fight.

SO WHAT DO WE DO? Contact ABC. Especially via snail mail, if possible. Email is good, but a sackful of letters dropped on an executive's desk makes more of an impression than a bunch of emails in an in-box.
